Do YOU enjoy working with children and youth? Do YOU love to dance? Join the Dance (Canada) is actively recruiting Teaching Artists for the Dancing Classrooms™ program in Toronto.
Teaching Artists are the lifeblood of our program, our most valuable asset. To ensure unity of purpose and intention, we train all prospective teachers extensively in classroom management skills and curricular integration, as well as ballroom training in our step syllabus.
Successful recruits will be required to participate in a 32-Hour Training Course over 4 Consecutive Saturdays: October 18th & 25th; November 1st & 8th. Training is voluntary and a definite pre-requisite. Upon completion of training, our new Teaching Artists will experience some additional On-the-Job training in an actual classroom setting.
Extensive ballroom experience is not a prerequisite. Dancing Classrooms is an inter-curricular program during regular class time and delivered over three consecutive terms of the School Year i.e. Fall, Winter & Spring.
